Coming Soon! A sneak peek!

It takes time to get everything just right but here's a preview of some of the fabrics-soon to be pillows in my shop! Just wait, there are so many more to come!

I've been thinking about the journey of turning an activity I enjoyed into something that can provide a living for me. This is take 2 with my shop. When I began, I didn't know what I was doing but I just kept going because it inspired me. It didn't really make me any money but it was a learning experience and an outlet for creativity.

I took a break to focus on raising babies for a while and now as they all hit school full-time, and life circumstances have changed, I find myself drawn back to creating something. Decorating is my adult form of coloring and I love making prints with the words that speak to my heart and keep me going.

I still don't know exactly what I'm doing! All the work I've put in though, has gotten me this far and all the bits and pieces I've picked up along the way are starting to come together to create the foundation to take the next step:)

Large Format Poster Prints

I like to upload my images to Office Max online. You then have the option of picking up your print in the store (usually within 24 hours) or having it shipped to your home.  I chose the 55 lb Heavy Bond Paper and it came out beautifully! Take your breath away kind of pretty. Right now the cost is $15.99 per poster. Someday, I may get around to making every letter of the alphabet but for now, if you're interested in a letter other than "A" leave me a comment and I can customize a monogram for you in the size that you need.

Wallpaper Installation Tips:

This wallpaper will arrive in 24 inch wide by 8 feet long strips.
The paper is printed to overlap by 3/4 inch so don't panic when you see double print on the edge.
Once you smooth the paper out while wet, small bubbles will pop up, but don't worry, they will disappear as the paper dries. Small bubbles are normal!
If the paper is longer than needed, apply the whole strip wet, then cut the edge to fit when it is dry.
A slip with instructions will come with your paper and if you have further questions, you can contact Spoonflower. They are very happy to answer all your questions.

Return to decorating!

It has been 7 years since I stopped sewing pillows for my little Etsy shop. During that time decorating trends have changed and so have I! My little ones are older now and I've found more time on my hands to enjoy some projects. This time around, I am taking inspiration from designers that I love and creating some fabrics and papers of my own. I have a goal to decorate my home and create at least 3 things in each room, that I can share. In this room I've designed the wallpaper, the monogram art print, and the fabric for the lumbar pillow.

I've never thought of myself as an artist but I truly love color! My home is my colorbook. I read once, from a designer, these inspirational words, "work in the home is very important work." This is the kind of work in my home that I really enjoy. It allows me to create something. I hope that it helps make a beautiful place for my family to relax, play, learn, be inspired, and then create things of their own. Enjoy!

I am just getting things rolling again and will soon have throw pillows and prints available in my Etsy Shop. For now, the wallpaper is available on Spoonflower.

Decorating Trend 2009 : Mimosa!

I like to collect decorating photographs for color inspiration and to keep up on what is the latest. These are two of my favorite examples of yellow. I also love the large framed wallpaper square used in each of these rooms:)
